Let’s celebrate oral health on 20th March!
World Oral Health Day will be celebrated on 20th March 2013 under the theme “Healthy teeth for a healthy life”, providing all oral health professionals – dentists, dental assistants and dental technicians – with the opportunity to raise the awareness of patients and their families to the importance of oral health for health in general, for quality of life and for self-confidence.
It will also be an opportunity to bring to the attention of national authorities the need to implement prevention policies in order to reduce the incidence of oral diseases. These are among the most common chronic diseases: 90% of the world’s population is at risk from some form of dental disorder (caries, periodontal disease, oral cancer, … ).
World Oral health Day is organised by the FDI World Dental Federation which represents over one million dentists worldwide.
The FDI Annual World Dental Congress (AWDC)

Held each year in a different member State, the FDI AWDC provides the international dental community with the opportunity to discover the most recent developments in dental research, state-of-the-art scientific and clinical technologies, and the wide range of dental techniques and equipment currently available.
In 2013, the FDI will hold its annual Congress in Istanbul, Turkey, 28-31 August.
